Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Otherwise your best bet would be to seek the services of a qualified ham radio technician. If you are adventurous to give this a try, pls post back. This is a known problem and many in the "ham" world have written corrective procedures which would require an insulated tuning/alignment screwdriver or at the very least a jewellers screwdriver and doing a bit of alignment by "ear" If the reset doesn't work, then your particular version/model has a slight offset resulting to the "humming sound". But the unit will be back to factory default. Preset/memory would be erased as well as any personalized settings if you do this. The idea is to reset the microprocessor if the problem is software/firmware. This model don't have a reset button, but you can try removing the batteries for say an hour or so.
